Tricks 101
Tricks class is for anyone who wants to have fun with their dog learning new things! Tricks class is organized to allow you to work at your own pace with your dog. We can tailor the program to suit your needs. You can teach the tricks needed for an AKC Trick Dog title or you can come and just have fun teaching your dog new tricks. Be creative - your dog can do more than you think if you are willing to take the time to work with him!
Any puppy or adult dog that meets the vaccination requirements may take this class. No experience is needed.
Tricks 102
Advanced Tricks w/ Props & Canine Freestyle (Heel-work to Music)
Train to prepare for your AKC Performer (TKP) or Elite Trick Dog (TKE) title using props and get a chance to enter AKC’s Trick Dog National Competition. For those musical minded handlers, you can work on your heeling skills while choreographing a freestyle (heel-work to music) routine. Handlers will learn how to train their dog send aways to props and retrieving/holding props in the mouth. (Handlers need to supply their own props). This is an advanced course; therefore, handlers should expect to devote time to practicing between lessons.
Prerequisite:

Rally– Novice or Above
Certified Therapy Dogs
Dogs need to to be able to work around other dogs.
No dogs first class.
Why teach your dog tricks?
Teaching tricks establishes a pattern of learning, teaches skills and focus, is a positive method of training, and promotes a bond between canine and human. And it's fun!
Our tricks class uses a gentle, motivation based approach that will help you build a closer more communicative bond with your dog. Teaching your dog tricks will improve both your teaching skills and your dog's ability to learn. This means the more tricks you teach your dog, the quicker he will learn new tricks!
Trick training also improves your dog's overall obedience and manners since your dog will learn how to focus on and interact with you. Not only will you have a dog who has fun tricks to show family and friends, your dog will be better behaved and more pleasant to be around overall.
Some tricks also improve your dogs health as they require muscle tone, flexibility, balance and concentration. Tricks training boosts your dogs confidence in both himself and you. Dogs of any age can learn tricks - yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks!
