Who Are We?
Truckee Meadows Dog Training Club is an American Kennel Club (AKC) sanctioned Obedience Club formed in 1971 by a group of dog enthusiasts who were interested in promoting training and competition in dog obedience sports to the public. The club was incorporated under the laws of Nevada as a not for profit corporation and all proceeds from our training classes and fundraisers go to support the club expenses including training equipment, rent, utilities and insurance for our club house where we offer training classes to the public year-round.
We are delighted that dogs of all breeds, including mixed breeds, may now compete in our AKC sanctioned Obedience, Rally and Agility trials and matches. We offer classes for owners at a variety of experience levels, ages, and abilities. Whether you are looking to just get started teaching your new pup basic manners and socialization, or you are looking for a place to train at competition levels, we either have classes that fit into your needs or can refer you to the right trainer for your situation.
