Rally and Obedience Trial CANCELLED

It is with great sadness that Truckee Meadows Dog Training Club is canceling our Summer Obedience and Rally Trials.  With the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, State of Nevada Phase One Guidelines, and AKC Best Practices suggestions, we are unable to come up with a solution to maintain social distancing, provide for the safety and comfort of our exhibitors, and the safety of our volunteers.  The venue is still willing to have the event, however with AKC Best Practices suggestions and the current Phase One Guidelines in place, and no indication of when that make progress to the next phase, this would leave most all but the competitors actually in the ring with their dogs crated in their vehicles in the parking lot in the Summer in Reno.  This does not mean that we will not have our Obedience and Rally Trials.  We are diligently seeking alternative dates this Fall that would allow out competitors to crate comfortably in their vehicles.  Please know that we understand your frustration and disappointment at this cancelation, and know that we at Truckee Meadows Dog Training Club are working on a solution that would let us move forward with our Obedience and Rally Trials.

Thank-you

COVID-19 Temporary Club Closure Update - March 22, 2020

I hope that we are all doing as well as we may with the current state of emergency. With the current uncertainty of the situation, the board has voted to cancel the farm dog and scent work trials. We are proceeding with our plans for our Obedience and Rally trials for the time being. We will continue with our planning and our event unless there is a decision by the show chair, the board, or the venue to cancel the event. Session two classes have been canceled, with the intentions of rolling all of the students into session three, circumstances allowing.

Thank-you,
Mark Heddleston President, Truckee Meadows Dog Training Club
